Lummi Tribal Sewer & Water would like to make a request to the Lummi Community ~
Regarding flushable and especially NON-flushable wipes (all brands).
Lummi Tribal Sewer and Water District is experiencing issues with wipes being flushed down toilets and causing clogging within the sewer lines. Please do NOT flush wipes in your toilet. This problem is causing several after-hours sewer crew callouts, including late nights.
Lummi Tribal Sewer & Water District has been experiencing an alarming number of clogged pumps at our sewer pump stations recently because of foreign material being flushed down the toilets or poured down drains. The pumps in these stations are designed to handle water, human waste, and tissue paper only.
Your residence has a sewer connection to the public sewer system. This connection runs from the home to the sewer main where it is connected to the public sewer system. This on‐site sewer line is the responsibility of the homeowner to keep clear so there are no back‐ups of wastewater into the home. Save yourself and your sewer utility from costly repairs and/or replacement bills.
